Philadelphia Eagles are still unbeaten and still developing

In Week 4, the Philadelphia Eagles narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders in overtime, but the triumph did little to allay doubts about the team's ongoing development.

The Eagles came back to win even though they were down by 10 points in the fourth quarter, in large part because of the quarterback Jalen Hurts' two touchdown runs. The Eagles made some expensive errors throughout the course of the game, though, including penalties, turnovers, and lost opportunities.

A snapshot of the Eagles' season thus far may be found in their performance against the Commanders. They have occasionally displayed brilliance, but they have also lacked consistency and been prone to mistakes. They must improve their skills and create a more recognizable brand if they hope to compete seriously in the NFC.

The Eagles must do better in the following crucial areas:

The Eagles have been one of the NFL's most disciplined teams this season. If they wish to succeed in the long run, they must lessen their penalties.

Security of the ball: The Eagles have turned the ball over much too frequently this season. If they want to win games, they must improve ball protection.

Consistency in offensive: This season, the Eagles' offense has proven unreliable. If they want to be a legitimate competitor, they must find a way to be more reliable offensively.

The Eagles are still unbeaten and among the better teams in the NFC despite their shortcomings. Hurts and wide receiver A.J. Brown are the stars of their excellent roster. If they wish to realize their full potential, they must improve their play.

The Eagles will have time to address their issues after having a bye in Week 5. If they want to keep winning games and be a legitimate NFC contender, they must make some upgrades.
